There isn’t one universal legal definition of an “acreage” in Alberta real estate, but the term is generally used for a rural or country-residential property with significantly more land than a typical city lot.
In Bearspaw, many acreage properties are around 1 acre or more, with 2 to 5 acres being common for country-residential homes. Larger estate properties may sit on 5, 10 or more acres.
Because parcel sizes vary widely, it’s best to look at the actual lot size, zoning, utilities and land-use restrictions for each property rather than relying on the word “acreage” alone.

Most homes in Bearspaw use well water and septic systems rather than city services. This is an important consideration when buying, and I always help my clients understand how these systems work before purchasing.
