Renfrew Housing Market Update – August 2026
Renfrew recorded 14 residential sales in August 2026, up from 10 sales in August 2025. Seventeen new listings entered the market, while total inventory declined from 48 to 37 properties. This produced an overall sales-to-new-listings ratio of approximately 82% and lowered the estimated months of supply from 4.8 months last August to 2.6 months.
Semi-detached homes were the strongest segment, recording six sales against three new listings. This resulted in a 200% sales-to-new-listings ratio and just 0.5 months of supply. Semi-detached homes sold in an average of 35 days and achieved approximately 99% of their asking prices. The benchmark price was $981,000, essentially unchanged from August 2025.
The detached segment recorded four sales and four new listings, producing a 100% sales-to-new-listings ratio. With 13 detached homes in inventory, months of supply stood at 3.25 months. Detached homes took an average of 25 days to sell and achieved approximately 97% of their asking prices. The benchmark price was $720,500, approximately 3% below the previous August.
Four row or townhouse properties sold, compared with just one sale a year earlier. Seven new listings entered the market, resulting in a 57% sales-to-new-listings ratio and 2.5 months of supply. Townhouses sold in an average of 15 days and achieved 100% of their asking prices. The benchmark price was $438,400, approximately 6% lower year over year.
Across the homes that sold, the estimated average marketing time improved from approximately 40 days last August to 26 days in August 2026. Sellers achieved an estimated 99% of their asking prices, compared with approximately 96% a year earlier.
Overall, Renfrew experienced stronger sales, lower inventory and faster selling times than last summer. Conditions were especially competitive for semi-detached homes, while the apartment segment remained considerably softer. Benchmark prices varied by property type, reinforcing the importance of evaluating detached, semi-detached, townhouse and apartment properties separately.
Compared with nearby inner city communities, Renfrew sits in a competitive middle position. Its detached benchmark price is below Crescent Heights at $743,200, Bridgeland/Riverside at $729,000, Inglewood at $738,300, and Mount Pleasant at $851,200, but above Ramsay at $673,700 and Tuxedo Park at $667,600.

How do Renfrew prices compare to the Calgary city wide average?
Renfrew carries a 10% to 25% premium over the Calgary city-wide average (which currently sits at roughly $807,186 for detached homes). This premium is driven by Renfrew’s “Inner City” status, larger-than-average lot sizes, and proximity to the downtown core.

Why is there such a large price range within the community?
Renfrew is currently in a state of redevelopment transition. You will often see a 1950s original bungalow priced at $725,000 sitting directly next to a brand-new $1.4M luxury home. This “old meets new” dynamic creates a wider price variance than you would find in a more uniform suburban neighborhood.
